Crime is up in the Hamlet and other nearby areas. Please be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious activities to the Montgomery County Police (see below). The Hamlet Citizens Association works to create “fellowship among neighbors …” (Bylaws, Article 2). Residents are urged to help the Association do its job, and to please be mindful of others in the following ways:
- To report all suspicious activity to Montgomery County Police (301-279-8000) non-emergency number
- To report street light malfunctions to PEPCO (1-877-737-2662)
- To drive slowly and carefully through the Hamlet
- To heed all stop signs
- To keep dogs “on leash”
- To clean up after pets
- To bring in trash cans as soon as possible following weekly pick-up
- To pay annual citizens association dues
- To keep backyard music and noise at a reasonable level
- To keep storm drains open during winter blizzards
- To dig out fire hydrants during winter blizzards
